Texas Driver License Requirements at-a-glance:
Minimum Age for Learner Permit
15 years (with driver education)
Learner Permit Holding Period
Besides turning 16, you must have held your learner (instruction) permit for at least six (6) months in good standing before you can apply for a provisional driver's license.

14 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction

Unsupervised driving rules
